As far as I know, chinese new year only reminds me of traditions. Traditions of this, traditions of that...and all sorts of things...I kind of pity those non-chinese man...I mean, even NTUC is playing chinese songs just to go along with the upcoming festival...If I were a malay, I'll probably get irritated by all the "chiang chiang" noise...Speaking of which, workplace is becoming more and more busier these days, since it's officially the last week for preparations for chinese new year. People can buy up till 300-400 worth of new year groceries. And not only that, the other races actually join in the lunaticism(i call that the act of being crazy); there was one customer who bought about $87 worth of items...guess what? she gave me 44pieces of $2notes.
-.-"
And there's another one...gave me a $1000 note for $70 of items...it actually gave me fear of overgiving the change...
Well, for now...there are quite alot of upcoming events as well...
Steamboat with gang at my humble house; 9feb.
Chinese new year itself.
valentine's day.14th feb..very close after cny. Also have to actually report for some vocational assessment...
And there of course, is my birthday,22nd feb.
After which, submission of projects, 3rd march. Happens to be junze's birthday as well.
Following that would be my driving theory test...24th march i think?
busy busy busy....
Heard lots of people went to NS already...speaking of which, this guy by the name of Andy recently gave me a suggestion to go sign on with the army. Not only I get more than what a normal recruit gets during NS, I also get money when I study as well as an income more than what others would have when they first found a job.
BUT...
The exact same guy now tells me(together with another army friend) that it's better to go in to NS, find out if you really like army life before you consider for a 5-year contract with the army. Sounds reasonable yah? Then why in the first place tell me about all the benefits I get, etc. the amount of money, career stability, chance to take private courses(like what he's actually doing now).
School ended...so shall this post too..
So I attempted to do credit card offline...but even so, it still could not be done. While I was doing that, the customer was pissed off with me, for the speed that I'm handling his transaction. But in actual fact, I was slow because of his card and he actually dared to blame me...
Anyways, back in school, there are so many projects coming along...and from now till the dateline(3Mar 2008) I have about 3months time to finish 5projects; computer animation, Flash, 3D modelling, Business plan, and problem solving.
Wow.
then during breaktime, I went downstairs to buy medium milo from MacDonald's...it's really envious that Macdonald's isn't packed at all...that's like kind of strange...because even for my house downstairs usually sundays will be very packed...it's unlikely that you will see a MacDonald fastfood restaurant empty on a sunday morning...
As I was saying, I bought Milo and wanted to buy the sunshine bread roll at cheers, but it was out of stock and with that the only place to buy is at FairPrice...but the queue is so long I guessed that I had to tolerate with just milo alone till end of work. Little did I know, there was extra food at the staff tea room...had those peanut pancakes...somewhat like leftover because those aunties couldn't finish it...haha...but it's quite nice...Even had a chat with my mentor...
Then after that it was back to work...
FAST FORWARD>>>>
At around 12 there was this another colleague, again an auntie who came to help me to be my packer...what a team man...we managed to clear up a few customers...pretty fast I must say..She did all the packing while I just simply scanned and scanned...haha...anyways, she accompanied me all the way till 2pm...then I counted my float; packed in $700 and counted the rest as sales while she counted my vouchers and credit cards payment.
LOW AND BEHOLD, I HAD A SHORTAGE OF $50.75...
Haiz...no choice...have to pay back...now have to think of ways to raise the money...I'm giving myself one month's time to buck up...
Anyways, alot of things have happened since I pause blogging...it's hard to say all of it...so I'll just concentrate on recent events...
Recently been working...It was lucky for us that we got the NTUC fairprice job at Hougang point. That day we went there around 8plus, filled up some form and the next day we got a call from one of the 'bosses'.
Went to the training on 17dec till 19dec. The first day was kind of stupid...seems like it was for R.As...retail assistants. The real fun started on18, 19 and 26dec when we were trained to operate on the P.O.S(point of sales) machine.
We reported to work on 20th dec...was suppose to look for the same guy, but apparently he went on leave since it was a public holiday...then we were attached to a senior cashier for approximately 5days...
After which, 27dec we started opening our own counters. From then on, I personally have seen several kinds of people..
